Business Start Up Tips From Some Hearty Entrepreneurs

When’s the last time someone asked you: “What’s new?”
If you’re starting or growing a business, an e-business, or a web site, the answer is: “Everything!” - especially on the inside.

Face it, launching a new enterprise - or taking it to the next level - can sometimes feel scary and overwhelming. Where do you begin? How do you begin? And do you have what it takes?

Granted. We’ve heard about the classic stages of starting a successful business - like Plan, Launch, and Grow. We’ve heard about the latest web promotion buzzwords - like Stickiness, Link Popularity, and RSS Feeds. Yes, these are important, but let’s start at the heart of the matter. My objective is to help you begin your business by focusing on the inner shifts that accompany committing ourselves to any new business venture - the “hearty” changes that we’re unable to see directly, but that happen just the same.

I write these words from my 20 years of experience helping entrepreneurs start all types of businesses - both traditional and online - and having discussions with them about their entrepreneurial lives, about their inner achievements. What has it been like for them? What have they learned? What has worked for them, and what hasn’t?

The essence is this: Though the outward steps of launching a business may vary from person to person, if you’re willing to look closer, you’ll see that the process you go through on the inside will trigger all the deep changes in your life that are truly your own, that you’ve been waiting and wanting to happen all along.

The nature and truth of these inner changes - and their effects - cannot adequately be put into words. My clients tell me that these changes don’t move in logical ways. They are subtle, sometimes masked, even from our self. We see the outward advances - the sign going up, the website being launched, and the first client being won - however the deep, subterranean realizations that occur when we launch a new enterprise (that sometimes seem to emerge “out of the blue”), end up affecting the success of our business far more than any genius business plan or enlightened promotional strategy ever will. So, it’s up to us - to be prepared for as much transformation as we will allow, personally and professionally.

Here are a few “hearty” Start Up Tips I’ve learned and experienced firsthand from my clients. I hope they will help you as you shift and as you shape your new business:

“Be as you are”

I used to think that appearing confident and fearless regardless of what I was feeling inside was what it took to succeed in business. “Be strong and in control. Never let them see you cry or sweat” is what we are told. Or, at least that’s the way I heard it. I believe what that advice amounted to was this: “Be two people. Appear as a competent person in business at any cost” (even though you know all too well that you are sometimes unsure of yourself and make mistakes). I bought into this lie, hook, line, and sinker (or maybe that should read stinker?).

The truth: a straight-forward approach - warts and all - works better every time. Be as you are. It takes the pressure off and keeps your ego in the right place, while at the same time it makes it crystal clear to others whether you can meet their need from the very start. No hype. Nothing hidden. A few laughs. They can make a decision faster and feel confident in doing business with you because what they see is what they get. They can trust what’s real.

And likewise, the clarity and inner confidence that come from being as you are will guide the right actions for your business as well. They will be your light. They will set you going in the right direction and will provide the ready fuel to keep you going - and growing. The spirit of your business will sustain you.

“Humility precedes confidence”

Right up there with transparent living is humility. For most of my life, my take on “humility” was that it meant being “weak” or “less than” in the eyes of others - descriptions that seemed the very opposite of how an “entrepreneur” was supposed to act. But, the more I experience, the more I see that taking a humble, realistic approach as we start any business is essential. Humility is not a demure personality trait; it’s part of living our humanity.

I’ve been blessed to work with many humble people. You know, it’s ironic that taking a humble approach to business will, more than anything else I’ve observed, have a positive, dramatic affect on your personal confidence and motivation, and your ability to communicate well - to reach people where they are. I’ve also learned that I can be confident and humble at the same time, as long as my humility precedes my confidence, as long as I keep the notion that I am no more or less than anyone else ever present.

“A chance to help others”

So, my clients say: “See your idea - your new business - for what it is. Simply a way for you to create a living that helps others.” That’s it. That’s all. That’s everything. You have talents and gifts. You want to do something that seems natural and personally fulfilling. So be it. At the same time, there are people out there that need what you have to offer. This same equation of life and work is true for everyone. None of us are any more special, while at the same time all of us are capable of wonderful things.

“It’s always personal”

Business is always between just two people - it’s always inter-personal, even if your client is a huge company, you’re still communicating with a person. Today’s emphasis on the one-to-one nature of the Internet has always been the case in business, it’s just easier to see it illuminated on the web. Bringing your real skills (and person) in contact with another’s real need (and person) is the simple essence of meaningful business.

“Go with your heart”

So, we challenge you. Clearly define the parameters of your business upfront - what you will and will not initially offer. And, know your true values and limitations - what you cannot and will not do. Get these things out of your mind and commit them to paper - and re-commit yourself to your business each time you re-read them. Build it as you see it. Ask for others’ input and gain the professional help you need to succeed but go with what’s in your heart, with what moves you. When you go with what charges you up, you’ll have built-in confidence because you’ll be offering what is you. You’re not trying to make others see your business for anything but what it is. You’re not having to psych yourself up all the time. What a relief!

“Be like an open container”

They also tell me: “Wear life as a loose garment.” Be like an open container as you run your business. Be contained in terms of being focused, yet always remain open, in terms of being observant and flexible. You will create the map - your business plan - but without fail know that your map must change as you use it. That’s the way it is. As entrepreneurs, we can grow to love the fact that our world and business will change constantly. By saying alert, by consciously observing, by asking ourselves how we can best respond to these changes, we allow our business to take on its own life - a life we don’t need to “try” to push or “think through” all the time in order for it to maintain momentum.

“Challenges enliven your business”

And finally, their advice: Remain poised to creatively meet the challenges in front of you. They will appear, and you can benefit from them. They may appear as opportunities. “Oh boy!?” Or, they may appear as hurdles. “Oh, no!?” It’s all in how we see them and the actions we take as a result. We can label the very same thing as ” a blessing” or an “opportunity,” or we can label it as a “problem” or a “roadblock. However, refusing to accept what lies in front of us - just because it is different from what we had envisioned - prevents us from the very thing that will drive our business: change and growth.

“Hope and energy abound everywhere. Surprises are rampant.”

Remembering this daily, and living from my heart daily - is often the greatest challenge for me, and for my clients. It’s the challenge of perceiving my changing path and my changing relationship with others clearly and consistently, and allowing the spirit of change - the spirit of my business - to propel me forward, without grasping for it, without losing my focus.

Preventing Your Dog From Catching Diseases

Like any other pet, dogs, if not properly cared and maintained, could get diseases. Here are some parasites that cause dog diseases.

- Heartworm. Mosquito bites cause heartworm to exist in a dog and will reside in your pet’s heart and nearby blood vessels. A dog infected by heartworms looks dull and may even have a chronic cough. If possible, ask your veterinarian if your dog could be given a heartworm medication when it is the season of mosquitoes.

- Hookworm. Hookworms can be given by the mother dog to a puppy during the nursing period or even before birth. Hookworms cause dog anemia and appetite loss.

- Roundworm. The transmittal of roundworms is very much like how hookworms get transmitted in a dog. An infected dog usually has a potbelly. Roundworms cause pneumonia, diarrhea, dehydration, stunted growth, and vomiting.

- Tapeworm. A dog gets tapeworms if it swallows fleas that are larvae-laden. Much of the symptoms that are obvious rarely show, but in the dog’s feces, you could see deposits of rice-like appearance.

- Whipworm. A dog infected with whipworms may have diarrhea and other ailments like, stool mucus, and serious bowel inflammation. Extreme weight loss is also a symptom caused by whipworms.

- Fleas. Fleas, the commonest among external parasites, cause the dog to continuously scratch various parts of the body. This results to fur loss. Ask your veterinarian on a good flea-control program, since fleas could become resistant to some products over time.

- Lice. Lice can infect less common compared with fleas. Plus, they can be controlled easier.

- Ticks. Ticks can pose more serious problems than fleas because diseases like Rocky Mountain Spotted Fever, or Lyme disease, can be contracted with ticks. Tweezers can be used to remove ticks one by one. If you do not know how to remove ticks properly and carefully, ask your vet first. If you do know how, ticks should be placed in a can with soap and water.

Treating dog diseases

Some ways of treating dog diseases that your vet might use:

- Pills

- Liquid medicine

- Eye drops and ointment

- Ear drops and ointment

With proper care and prevention, your pet dog would be generally free and safe from various diseases. If you notice something’s wrong with your dog, immediately consult with your vet. You will never know what might happen.

The Right Tool - Venetian Plasters

It has been said that for every job there is a tool. That is the case with the tools used to apply the product commercially known as Venetian Plaster. At a seminar on Marmorino hosted by Rivesto-Marmorino© several months ago, there was an old plasterer from New Castle, Penn., that looked at these trowels and said, “What are these things?” He couldn’t understand their shape or why they where so flexible and the end was curved.

At a seminar on Marmorino hosted by Rivesto-Marmorino© several months ago, there was an old plasterer from New Castle, Penn., that looked at these trowels and said, “What are these things?” He couldn’t understand their shape or why they where so flexible and the end was curved.

Facts

But in a conversation with him recently, he sounded like a changed man; he loves these Venetian plaster trowels designed for use with Rivesto-Marmorino©. Altthoug he mentioned that he couldn’t use them with regular plaster, he said they where well-suited for Marmorino. Marmorino is a marble product with a lime base that needs to be worked very gently. With traditional plastering, you are required to put on a lot of material very quickly and a rigid style trowel is desirable, whereas with Rivesto-Marmorino©, a flexible trowel is required.

No one before us had asked for a trowel like this one, designed for use with a full mineral product. If you work with synthetic or half-synthetic material you do not need trowels like these; rigid stainless steel is sufficient.

In further speaking with this plaster, he did not get dark stripes. With a lot of trowels these days, if there is any rust on the trowel or the steel isn’t of good quality it can leave discoloration on your wall. This never occurs with these new trowels. If you accidentally leave them in water or with material drying on them, the blade will not discolor.

The reason for this is not found by looking at the trowel; it’s found in what you can see on the trowel. The manufacture tempers the sheet steel in the raw material stage and again at the trowel factory, when they form the trowels. It is this procedure that takes the rigidity from the blade so that they become flexible. Then, they are delicately polished; witch is expensive because is done by hand.

Trowel Shape

Now the shape of the trowel raises a lot of eyebrows because it is in the shape of a trapezoid. If you see and old workman’s trowel in Italy, it starts off in a rectangular shape and after several years it start taking a trapezoid shape. This is because you work on the full length of the blade the whole time and one end becomes more narrow as a result. Many craftsmen in Italy would prefer to work with old trowels they inherited, as opposed to working with a new tool because it actually becomes better with age. For this reason, it was decided in a joint effort with Rivesto-Marmorino© and the manufacturer of the trowels to design the Venetian Plaster trowel with this shape to begin with. One of the most experienced toolmakers in Europe manufactured this trowel. The only thing that could not be manufactures was the worn edge on the blade that has to come over time with use. The trowel also has round corners to protect the finished Marmorino.

Ligth Weigth

Last but not least, these special trowels have a light weight handle assembly; the manufacturing procedure holds an international patent. The handgrip is made of wood witch makes it more expensive, but the craftsmen appreciate it because it is extremely comfortable to hold. The original trowel designed with Rivesto-Marmorino© has been emulated by other manufacturers; witch is tribute to the inspired design of the original.

To complete the Rivesto-Marmorino© we use a smaller trowel; witch never touches the raw product. At just the right time this “polishing trowel” is worked over the product to give it that lustrous shine and feel of marble. This is important because in its natural state, marble is not polished.
When an artist picks up a brush or pen or sculpting tool, the object becomes an extension of his hand, his arm, his eye and his mind. In creating truly beautiful decorative finishes with Marmorino, choosing the right tool for that extension is crucial. For every job there is the right tool.

Home Equity Mortgages

Home equity mortgages are loans that use the equity on the home as collateral. Home equity is the difference between the current value of the home and the amount owed because of the mortgage/mortgages. A home equity mortgage can also be said to be a second mortgage since the extra cash generated can be used for home improvements, thus increasing the value of the house further.

Like regular home mortgages, home equity mortgages also use the property/ home as the security. In case of default, the lender has the right to take over the home. There are many advantages of taking a home equity loan: it would reduce the current loan burden if taken at a lower rate; the funds generated can be used to pay off high interest debts like credit cards; sometimes, home equity mortgages enable some tax savings; they can be used to exchange the present mortgage for a shorter term mortgage. Other advantages include: lower closing costs, and faster closing.

Home equity mortgages are ideal for people who are planning to use their home equity to finance something else. They are also good when the borrowers are planning to sell their house soon, since short-term equity loans have lower rates. Equity mortgages are preferable when the loan amount is smaller. Generally, equity mortgage rates are higher than first mortgage rates. They are also riskier because of their second-lien position. The rates of home equity mortgages depend on the frequently changing Wall Street Journal prime rate. Long-term home equity loans tend to have higher rates than even fixed rate mortgages.

With increasing real estate prices, many people are considering home equity mortgages. Lenders are also giving many attractive offers on equity mortgages. A good past credit rating is an important prerequisite for obtaining a home equity mortgage. The best source for knowing about home equity mortgage rates is the Internet. Most mortgage loan companies provide information through their websites also. These rates are updated daily. Their sites also have easy-to-use home equity mortgage calculators that give all information, including payments to be made each month and the tax advantages, with the single click of a button. Most of them also have financial advisors who would provide advice online, or over the phone.

Home Mortgages provides detailed information on Home Mortgages, Home Mortgage Rates, Home Equity Mortgages, Home Mortgage Refinance Loans and more. Home Mortgages is affiliated with Compare Home Mortgage Interest Rates.

Travel to Denmark During the “Year of the Renaissance”

These days, just about every town or hamlet in the United States boasts of an “authentic” renaissance festival. Invariably, these festivals feature such attractions as “authentic” renaissance maidens sporting authentic renaissance-era, biker chick tattoos and renaissance cuisine like Ye Olde hotdogs or Ye Olde pizza slices.

So most Americans know all about Renaissance festivals from their experiences stateside. However, just for fun, let’s consider the counterpart festivals in European countries where the Renaissance actually took place.

Denmark, for example, the country that brought us those ubiquitous plastic toys, Legos; has designated the entire year of 2006 to be “The Year of the Renaissance.”

Imagine my surprise, a father who has stepped on many a Lego in the dark with bare feet, to learn that Legos have nothing to do with the Renaissance, and were not in fact invented until much later. All along, I had assumed that I was enduring those pesky little toys because it was good for my children’s education. Shows what I know.

OK, back to Denmark. The entire country is open for business to celebrate the Renaissance. Check out these excerpts from Europe Travel News (http://europetravelnews.com/2005_12/394_copenhagen-renaissance/#more-394“)on some of the exciting things you can do and see when you travel to Denmark during the year 2006:

–”2006 has been designated the year of the Renaissance in Denmark. To mark the occasion, an exciting array of cultural events is scheduled to take place throughout the year in the capital region. Exhibitions, concerts, walking tours and many other special activities, both indoors and out, have been planned to spotlight this extraordinary period in Copenhagen?s history.”

–”History lovers, among others, will have all the more reason to visit Copenhagen in 2006, when the city pays tribute to the great achievements of the Renaissance. A wide variety of special events, celebrating that remarkable period of its history, will be held throughout the capital region.”

–”Kronborg Castle in Elsinore, at the seaward approach to the resund Sound, is one of Northern Europe’s most important Renaissance castles. It is also the most famous castle in Denmark, known all over the world as the setting for Shakespeare’s Hamlet.”

–”In 2006, Hillerd will host a large Renaissance Festival with participants from home and abroad. There will be stands with food, beverages, handicrafts and entertainment - just as there were during the time of Christian IV. In September a parade through town to Frederiksborg Castle will cap the event followed by dancing, concerts and displays of knightly swordsmanship and horsemanship”.

So enjoy your travels to Denmark and take in all these wonderful experiences. I’m not sure if they will offer hotdogs and pizza slices at these festivals; but if they do, I’m certain they’ll have some Ye Olde Alka Seltzer available.

Oh, and watch your step. Especially when you are barefoot…in the dark.

What’s the Fastest Way to Ruin a New Web Site?

I’ve been asked, “How do I design a successful Web site?”

I often respond, “Do you know the fastest way to ruin a new Web
site design?” As you might suspect, the answer is, “Lack of
proper planning beforehand.” Let’s put it another way. In
programming, there’s an old axiom, which states: “The sooner you
start your coding the longer it takes to finish.”

Planning out your Web site before you build it is essential. To
borrow a technique from the film industry, I recommend that you
create a storyboard, which is a type of a flow chart of your new
Web site design. You don’t have to be an accomplished artist to
draw out your idea, but it’s essential to create it on paper
first.

On each piece of paper, the goal is to have room for an image at
the top, plus space underneath for writing down information. As
you might suspect, the first page to start with is your home (or
welcome) page, which will typically have the most information as
it will contain the page the people visit before they enter your
site and as people go through your site, the will encounter more
information (in tiers) as they go down.

Typically, the home page links to 5-15 pages below that, which
we could refer to as Tier 2. Each of those pages links to
another 5-15 pages, which you could call Tier 3. If you use all
of these pages, you’ll wind up with an extensive Web site
design, of at least 226 pages (including the home page).

It’s during this process that all sorts of problems will crop
up. But it’s much easier to solve them on paper than in the
middle of coding rather than when you are finished.. If you
don’t, you might run into a major problem along the way that
would require a “back to the drawing board” complete site
re-design.

Working things out on paper will give you a much better idea of
how things will work and how to fix problems. And, if you have
knowledgeable friends, get a second opinion.

Once you’ve completed the on-paper process, and you or your web
designer is satisfied with the results, you’re ready to
translate it into code. Unless you or your programmer is a pro,
I would recommend using a “template”. These are ready-made Web
site design formats. You can choose from several templates by
typing “template source” in most search engines. Many of them
are free.

Commonly Asked Questions Q: For a Web site, do I have to employ
a pro, or can I call the guidance counselor at my local high
school and ask for the names of some computer whiz kids that I
could call to help me out (for a fee)?

A: It really depends on what you want to do. If all you want is
1-2 pages , you can learn how to build the Web site yourself. If
it’s an intensive site with many pages, I’d recommend student or
a pro (if you have the budget).

Q: I see a lot of photo-oriented web sites that have a black
background. Is this the best color to use?

A: Not necessarily. It’s a matter of opinion and personal taste.
White can work just as well. I don’t recommend the use of other
colors as they can compete with your images.

Q: Is “Flash” or audio acceptable?

A: If you absolutely need Flash to demonstrate an animation,
then by all means use it. If it’s for a fancy trick, I recommend
leaving it out. It’s similar with sound. Unless it adds to your
site, don’t use it. And if you do use sound, give users an
option to turn it off. If you don’t, you’re likely to lose
visitors.

Ford Bronco II: Shining Through Despite Criticisms

Sold between the years 1984 to 1990, the Ford Bronco II was
built and manufactured to be a compact sport utility vehicle. It
was actually built to be a compact complement of the full sized
Ford Bronco. It was also targeted so as to be the direct
competitor to the Chevrolet S 10 Blazer and the Jeep Cherokee.

This vehicle held a 94 inch wheelbase that was very similar to
the Volkswagen Beetle. The mechanical parts were very much
similar to the Ford Ranger pickup’s mechanical components. The
first models came out equipped with a 2.8 liter V6 engine which
was very much similar to the 2.8 liter engine that was used in
the Ford vehicles marketed and sold in Europe. Come the year
1986, the Ford Bronco II came introduced with a 2.9 liter EFI
V6. It has been said that this engine was doomed from the
beginning with design flaws. This engine often suffered from
premature cylinder head failure and loss of valve train
lubrication as well. This happened when the valve train
lubrication was not rigorously maintained. However, Ford was
able to see this flaw immediately and it acted upon changing or
correcting this flaw in the soonest time possible. Come 1989,
this mistake was already corrected. However, the Ford Bronco II
had already accumulated unattractive comments and a not so good
reputation to potential buyers. These buyers were concerned
about the safety of this vehicle.

This vehicle has also been reputed to tip over during some
situations because of the high center of gravity. Later on in
1991, the Ford Bronco II platform underwent a major redesign and
was released to be wider and longer. However, despite the bad
kind of reputation that this vehicle received, the Ford Bronco
II still continued to be actively sought by customers and
patrons who are looking for a cheap, solid and compact sports
utility vehicle. Of course, these buyers would have to do some
work on it but the replacement parts and engine could be found
easily for the Ford Bronco II could have an engine swap with the
Ford Ranger.

Shopping for Ford Bronco parts and Ford auto
parts has been tremendously made easy by the easy to navigate

shoppers, visitors, and customers base a hassle free and
convenient shopping experience. It also is a secured site so
that confidentiality and safety of its customers are guaranteed.

How To Stop Your Dog From Pulling On The Leash While Walking

Dogs which pull on their leash while walking with you is a common problem seen among many different breeds. This problem can be seen in puppies as well as adult dogs. Dogs which pull on their leash while you walk this is more than just aggravating. If the leash breaks, the dog could run and put itself or others in danger. You should want to walk your dog, not have it walking you.

There are a number of different reasons why your dog will pull on the leash. Some dogs are so happy to go for a walk that they are out of control, and are anxious to move about. Other dogs see themselves as being the leader, and will move forward with force because they feel that they are moving ahead of the pack. If your dog is very happy about going out, it may help to give them some time to calm down. You can stand still with the dog for a few minutes until they become more relaxed.

If the dog feels that it is the leader, this is a sign that you should begin training him. The owner has to show the dog that they are the leader. When you don’t have this understanding with your dog, it will be impossible to train them properly. If your dog shows signs of control, it is best to go back to simple obedience training. If you don’t have the time to train the dog yourself, it may be best to send them to a dog training school.

The instructor can train you as well as your dog, and they can show you how to keep the dog from trying to be the leader. Skilled instructors should always work with both you and your dog. The first step in getting the dog not to pull on the leash is to get it to accept the collar. If the dog is moving around a lot while you are trying to put on the collar, this is a sign that your dog will pull against the leash. Start by commanding your dog to sit or stay while you put on the collar. If the dog gets up after you’ve put on the collar, make him sit back down quickly.

You should only walk the dog after it sits down calmly and allows you to put on the collar and leash. Once the collar is on, don’t allow the dog to jump up and rush ahead towards the door. Gently pull back on the leash. Make him sit back down again, and repeat the process until he gets the message.

Unknown Angel

I have many wonderful childhood memories that warm my heart but
sometimes the hurtful ones stick with us forever. Often we can
find inspiration from a hurtful event that will last a lifetime
if we allow it.

I was quite a sick child growing up. One thing after another
would strike me down. Being paralyzed a few times as a child was
devastating. Once from a central nervous system condition and
another from a rare allergic reaction. Both of these incidents
run together in my memories making it difficult to separate each
event.

For some odd reason I was alone one evening. Being surrounded by
loved ones through out my entire hospital stay had been a way of
life. I guess the improvement of my condition prompted my family
to return home for a brief period of time.

I was lying in my hospital bed watching television when a small
girl in a hospital gown walked into my room. I turned my head to
look at her and the only thing I could do was smile because I
was so thrilled to see this her. I guess that’s because I had
been spending all my time with adults. She told me her name was
Angela and we chatted away. A nurse had come in my room and
Angela asked if I could go around the ward with her. The nurse,
one of my favorites, nodded her head in agreement and went to
get a wheelchair. She put me in the wheelchair and Angela was so
excited about pushing me around. She had asked me what was wrong
with me and I had replied I didn’t know. She had just had her
tonsils removed.

We had a good time strolling around the children’s ward. All of
the nurses knew us by our first names and pleasantly greeted us
as we sped by on our merry way. We visited other children
briefly but were in a big hurry to move on. We reached the end
of the line and Angela wheeled me up to the wall around a
corner. She told me it was my turn to push her. When she
realized that I couldn’t push her around she threw her hands on
her hips and told me I was being unfair. I begged her not to be
mad at me and although I cannot recall her words I remember the
pain and tears. She left me in that corner, stuck. I cried but
never called out for help for reasons unknown.

I remember seeing a smaller child, a boy. He walked so funny and
looked at me with a tear on his cheek. He struggled to get to me
and I instantly forgot that I was stuck. I watched his
determination in amazement and saw his grief on his little
swollen face. My heart cried out to him for he was struggling so
hard to come to my aid and it was causing him so much pain. Even
though I was in a wheelchair I knew that this child was far
worse than I was. I wanted him to stop but I couldn’t say a
word. I couldn’t believe that this unknown child who didn’t know
me was going through so much to try to help me.

At that very moment a couple and a nurse turned the corner
looking for me. The couple was my parent’s friends who had come
to visit bearing gifts. The woman hugged me and got behind my
chair to wheel me back to my room and the nurse was helping the
little boy back to his. As I was being pushed away I turned my
head to see him looking at me with the biggest smile on his face.

I eventually had a full recovery but I never did see that little
boy again. I have never forgotten his courage and determination,
nor will I ever forget how unselfish this child was.

Children can be cruel sometimes, unknowing to them that their
actions can cause another so much grief. I guess that is part of
growing up. I can still remember falling into childhood games of
teasing other children and such, but I was quickly reminded of
that one little boy.

It takes a very special child to see past their disabilities and
pain to try to make this world a better place for just one
person. Although he never got to help me, his actions meant so
much more. Words unsaid but the feat was so much greater. I
often think of this little boy and pray that whatever was wrong
with him, he also found recovery. I was taught a far greater
lesson that evening, a lesson that I hope I pass on to my child.

Love and compassion from a small stranger healed my broken
heart. It opened my eyes and filled my heart.

That little boy was my angel, my unknown angel.
