BE Launches Free WiFi Programme to 46 Locations

The identified communities will be getting Freerunner with BE broadband where no previous connections exist. Freerunner has already hosted free WiFi in many locations like schools, community centres and remote corners of the country. The two will now team up to bring this new service with a goal to bridging the digital divide and making access available to all.
To begin with, nearly 46 areas will be serviced for a three-year period free of any charges. Where broadband is not available, BE will step in with its own broadband service. Commenting on the initiative, Tom Williams from BE Broadband expressed his happiness at being able to bring this innovative scheme in conjunction with Freerunner to make WiFi available more easily.
Williams pointed out that BE users typically frequent cafes and small shops, and with Freerunner backing, the company would be able to provide speedy and effective service to these customers.
Owen Geddes, CEO of Freerunner, underlined the strength of the partnership by stating that the two companies have different yet related skills that will prove invaluable here. Geddes remarked that the free broadband offer from BE is incredibly generous and that this will change lifestyles in the 46 chosen communities.
