Fantasy Football - England Are Now World Cup Champions
England have received the World Cup! Football Superstars, an MMO (massively multi-player online game), has hosted a virtual World Cup tournament in which England have won - while the real 2010 South African World Cup ended in tears for the England team, the virtual team managed to play a whole lot better.
England are the World Cup winners for the virtual Football Superstars massive event; this is an MMO (massively multi-player online game) that reenvisions the World Cup, but as a video game. Unlike the true England team that got beaten by Germany in South Africa, the virtual England team ended up victorious. The virtual game England held against competing Germany happened during the group stages, and this time around England managed to hold off the Germans for a 1-1 draw. Germany then appeared to not even make it out of the group stages, thanks to a 2-1 loss against the Ukrainian team, something not likely to be mirrored in a real life soccer games. Effortlessly defeating the Lithuania team in the Quarter Finals, coming away with a massive 9-1 win, the England team was on a roll and in high spirits as they went on to the Semi Final against Portugal, a team they certainly would enjoy beating. The game was determined in the midfield, with both teams battling for control; when all was said and done the England squad came out on top managing to score 2 more goals than the Portuguese team, the end result was 4-2 seeing England go through to the final and Portugal leaving the tournament in despair. The final would be with Russia and England - both teams craved the win, but only one team could possess it. The game went off well for the English as they got an early lead, scoring in just about a minute. In the end, after an exhausting game, the final whistle blew, and for the first time, England were the World Cup Winners for the Football Superstars MMO fantasy football games. CyberSports Community Manager Andrew Ruddick expressed his thoughts on the tournament, declaring it the largest event ever hosted by Football Superstars. He thanked every team who took part, proclaiming the level of organization and dedication throughout was amazing, making for some incredibly competitive games. He finished by thanking everybody taking part in the event and congratulated the England team for the skillful level of play they had shown throughout the tournament. Soon there may be even more World Cup tournaments to look forward to.
